The switch listens and learns what ARP addresses exist at each physical ethernet port and uses that to avoid having to broadcast everything to everyone, instead sending it out over the port that the destination device is plugged into. Most likely this is not the case, because nearly all modern networks use switched ethernet, which means that if two users are both connected to the same switch, they won't see each others traffic unless they're talking to each other. If you're on a shared ethernet segment then that means other people's traffic on that same segment will be visible. Wireshark just shows you whatever your network adapter can see.
